Valve Spring
Inspect valve spring for visible damage.
Replace if it does.
Inspect valve spring free length.
Valve spring free length
New 40 mm (1.575 in)
Service limit 38.2 mm (1.504 in)
Replace valve spring if beyond service
limit.
Measure spring gradient. Replace if
beyond standard.
Spring gradient standard: 2°
Measure the spring force when the
spring
1
is compressed to certain length.
Replace if the force is beyond standard.
Valve spring force standard (intake
and exhaust): 200.5N~235.5N when
compressed to 33 mm
Valve spring force standard (intake and
exhaust): 531N~587N when compressed
to 23 mm

Install valve stems
