Ink Ribbon
Overview
Control description
Panel configuration: There are two types, a YMCK four panel configuration and a YMCKK five panel
configuration. Regarding position control of the Ink Ribbon, resolution is calculated by measuring the
number of clock occurrences from the Ribbon Feed Length Sensor (Wind Up Axis and Supply Axis, SN10
and SN11 - respectively), generated at the time when it passes through the K panel detected by the
Ribbon Beginning Sensor (SN9).
Based on this resolution, position control of the Ink Ribbon for the Y, M, and C panel is performed by the
relative number of clocks from the K panel.
Since resolution varies according to the remaining Ink Ribbon amount, the resolution is updated
every time K panel passes through.

Transfer Film
Control description
Regarding position control of the Transfer Film, resolution is calculated by measuring the number of
clock occurrences by the Film Feed Length Sensor (Supply Axis and Wind-Up Axis, SN14 and SN15 -
respectively), generated at the time of passing through the transfer panel detected by the Film
Beginning Sensor 1 (SN12) or Film Beginning Sensor 2 (SN13).
Based on this resolution and the number of times passing through the beginning mark, position control
of the film is performed. Since the resolution varies according to the remaining amount of the Transfer
Film, it is renewed every time one panel passes through.
At printing, repeat the movement of rewind and take-up every color to transfer 4 colors (Y/M/C/K) ink by
overlapping on the panel.

2. Detection level of the Film Beginning Sensor 1/2 (SN912/SN13)
