Step 16 – PRINT HEAD – S10143
It is necessary to download "Head resistance data", which is supplied along with the thermal
head, into PC.
In case download of "Head resistance data" is not performed properly, thermal head may be
damaged. Directly touching the end of the print head may deteriorate printing quality or cause
damage to the printer. Make sure to hold the print head by the frame when handling it.
Keep the print head CD. You will need it in case of main board replacement.
Before replacing the print head clean it to verify if the problem is not due to dust.
1. Open the door and remove the ink ribbon and transfer film cassettes.
Good practice for cassette handling consists in making sure cassette reference posts remain
in original position when storing or manipulating the cassettes.
