Test Pattern B: Edge line or faded line detection, Uniformity, Density
The following card can be printed from LCD menu: Adjustment >> Wrinkle >> Adjust Wrinkle >> Print Test
B.
This card can be used to detect wrinkle issue as it is more prone to generate the issue.
Because of the black background, this design can be used to detect/fix edge line issue and/or faded line
issue.
Also, this design is prone to generate missing printed areas hence to detect density settings issue:
This issue is caused by wrong amount of energy applies for 1
st
and/or 2
nd
transfer, more generally:
- Because of a lack of energy (heat) for 2
nd
transfer:
• User menu >> Card Setup >>
• Check card type selection and fix if not set to adequate card type
• Failing to this, use customizable card types
- Because of too much energy applied during 1
st
transfer (dense design). These designs will alter
retransfer film and sometimes make retransfer film less efficient for 2
nd
transfer.
• Service menu >> Adjustment >> Density >> Adj Density YMC | Adj Density K
Please note that modification for one transfer will slightly impact other transfer.
For instance, with a card type that uses same temperature but moves card slower will make the card stay
in 2
nd
transfer position for a longer time hence heat conduction will rise. This may create the need to use
or increase decurl.
