When the TwinCAT system detects a drive, its NC axis may be added automatically
as well (Figure 7.3). The great advantage here is that all PDOs are linked automati-
cally for this NC axis. Figure 7.4 depicts a device that has been integrated correct-
ly.

Automatically adding a drive’s NC axis also configures most of the basic parame-
ters. Only the following parameters need then be configured for operating the axis.
Setting the axis resolution
The scaling factor for the NC axis must be adjusted to the “Lightening” encoder
resolution or interpolation factor (Figure 7.5).
