B1 CHECKING THE DRAW OF THE SUCTION MOTOR
The suction motor A on the CT 230 is a two-stage brushless motor, in other words,
without carbon brushes which slide against the rotor. This means that carbon
brushes and others parts subject to wear due to sliding do not therefore need
controlling and/or replacing.
In the top part, the motor incorporates the electronics A1 which enable it to start up
gradually (with a ramp), avoiding jerks and high current peaks. The electrical
connections are therefore different from usual and involve two pairs of wires of
different diameters.
The pair of wires with the largest diameter A2 powers the motor with a DC voltage of
between 18 V DC and 42 V DC. The second pair of wires A3 with a smaller diameter,
again with DC voltage, controls machine ON/OFF and regulates speed. The voltage
must be between 3.5 V DC and 48 V DC, but the speed can be regulated up to 12 V DC
only, above this it is always at maximum.
Following testing, it was decided to use a control voltage of 10 V DC, supplied
directly from the functions circuit board.
