A3.2 Disassembling and replacing the brush motors
Disassembly
If you are replacing the motor due to wear of the top and above all bottom bearings (noisy), or
oil leaks from the reduction unit (visible under the head on the shaft where the drive disk flange
is mounted) and the two motors have the same number of working hours, you are
recommended to replace both brush motors.
To replace even just one of the brush motors, as well as purchasing the motor, you are also
recommended to purchase a new Anderson connector for the electrical connection.
1
If you are replacing just one motor, identify the motor to be replaced.
2
First remove the brush head as described in paragraph A3.1.
3
Acquire a new Anderson connector A to electrically connect the new motor.
4
Proceed to disassemble the brush drive disk flange B
5
Strike the screw C lightly with a hammer to remove traces of rust and encrustation, clean the hexagonal
recess of the screw to remove encrustations and enable the Allen key to be fully inserted.
6
With a 4 mm Allen key, unscrew and remove the screw C taking care not to damage the hexagon.
7
Pay attention to the washer D, it is not standard.
