System Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)
Preliminary Information
This information needs to be collected before
troubleshooting or calling Jacobsen’s Technical Support
team.
1. Vehicle issue(s) and fault codes
a. When does the issue or fault occur? (PTO ON or
OFF, Operator in/out of seat)?
b. How often does the issue occur? Is it intermittent
or constant?
c. Does fault disable the machine (traction, reels,
engine, etc.)?
d. Refer to Service Bulletins (available on Dealer
Central) for known fixes.
2. Model and Serial Number, Hours, 2WD or 3WD,
Software revisions
3. Machine application (mowing greens, verticutting,
etc.)
4. Use machine diagnostics
a. Download data logger file and have available for
email to Customer Care Representative.
b. Use Switch status screen in Maintenance mode.
c. Use the CAN status screen in Maintenance
mode.
d. Use controller LEDs
i. MCU, RCU, OLM input/output status
ii. TCU, SCU, 3WD solid or blinking status
LED?
5. Vehicle system voltage (LCD VDC with engine off
and running)
a. Check buffer battery (hybrid models) and deep
cycle battery (electric models)
i. Check cables and connections and overall
battery condition (corrosion, torque, water).
ii. Disconnect and reconnect both (BLUE
ANDERSON) battery plugs.
b. Check main power and chassis ground
connections for corrosion and proper torque.
c. Check all circuit breakers and stud connections
outside the PDU.
6. Operate and try to duplicate issue or fault before
calling Technical Support.
7. Check connections at specific problem system
controller: AC/DC/Signal
8. Perform a Factory Reset in the LDU (Maintenance
mode) and operate to see if issue was resolved or
symptom changes. Please write down any customer
setting changes (FOC, Number of Blades, Mow
Speed, etc.) prior to performing the factory reset.
DTC: Oil Pressure Alarm
Oil pressure below 7 psi (0.48 bar).
DTC: Temperature High Alarm (Diesel Models)
Engine coolant above 230° F (110° C)
Probable Cause Remedy
Low oil level. Check engine oil level. Fill engine oil to proper level.
Low engine oil pressure. Check engine oil pressure.
Faulty engine oil pressure switch. If engine oil pressure tests good, replace engine oil pressure switch.
Probable Cause Remedy
Low engine coolant. Check engine coolant level. Fill engine coolant to proper level.
Radiator. Radiator screen clogged with debris. Clean screen.
Faulty engine temperature switch. Substitute the engine temperature switch with a known good engine temperature switch.
If engine coolant and radiator tests good, replace temp switch.
