Reel Leveling Rod Pre-Adjustment
See Figure 6-18.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove reel leveling rod. (See “Reel Leveling Rod”
on page 6-23.)

3. Measure distance between end of the leveling rod
and face of nut (7). The measurement should be
1.625 in. (41.3 mm) for the right and left leveling rods
and 1.00 in. (25.4 mm) for the center leveling rod. If
the measurement does not meet specifications,
adjust as follows:
a. Loosen nut (2).
b. Turn rod connecting pin (1) as needed to obtain
proper distance (7).
c. Tighten nut (2).
4. Measure distance between end of the leveling rod
and face of collar (6). The measurement should be
5.250 in. (133.4 mm). If the measurement does not
meet specifications, adjust as follows:
a. Loosen the set screw on collar (3).
b. Slide collar (3) as needed to obtain proper
distance (6).
5. Tighten the set screw on collar (3).
6. Measure distance between end of the leveling rod
and face of nut (5). The measurement should be
0.125 in. (3.2 mm). If the measurement does not
meet specifications, turn nut (4) as needed to obtain
proper distance (5).
7. Install reel leveling rod. (See “Reel Leveling Rod” on
page 6-23.)
8. Level cutting unit as necessary. (See “Cutting Unit
Leveling Adjustment” on page 6-22.)
Cutting Unit Leveling Adjustment
See Figure 6-19.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Pre-adjust reel leveling rod, if necessary. (See “Reel
Leveling Rod Pre-Adjustment” on page 6-22.)

NOTES
• Ensure grass catcher is installed.
• Ensure center cutting unit is under machine and
center lift arm is locked in position.
3. Fully lower cutting unit to a level solid surface, then
raise cutting unit until slightly above surface.
4. Loosen nut (1).
5. Loosen the set screw on collar (3) and adjust collar
(3) and nut (5) until cutting unit is level and springs
(4) are slightly compressed.
6. Tighten the set screw on collar (3).
7. Tighten nut (1).
