Brake Coil Test
See Figures 4-89.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)
2. Remove front splash shield. (See “Axle Shield and
Front Splash Shield” on page 5-17.)

3. Set the meter to read ohms.
4. Touch meter leads to each other and confirm a
resistance value of 0.0 ohms.
5. Measure the resistance between terminals (1 and 2).
Is the resistance value approximately 25.5 ohms
at 68° F?
YES Brake coil is good.
NO Brake coil is faulty; replace brake coil.
Fuel Shutoff Solenoid Test (Diesel)
See Figures 4-90 and 4-91.
1. Park the mower safely. (See “Park Mower Safely” on
page 1-6.)

2. Tag and disconnect the fuel shutoff solenoid wire
connector (1).

3. Set the meter to read ohms.
4. Touch meter leads to each other and confirm a
resistance value of 0.0 ohms.
