3. Disconnect wire connector (5) from steering motor

4. Disconnect wire connectors (8) from the SCU (7).

5. Loosen two screws (9) and slide the adjustment
bracket (10) to remove the chain.
6. Remove two set screws (11) from the steering motor
gear (12).
7. Use the appropriate gear puller and remove the
steering motor gear.
8. Support the steering motor with a suitable lifting
device.
9. Remove four screws (13), washers (14), lock
washers (15), and nuts (16).
10. Remove steering motor.
Installation Notes
• Install steering motor by reversing the order of
removal.
• Use new cable ties to secure wire connectors and
wire harness.
• Adjust the steering tension. (See “Steer ing Chain
Tension Adjustment” on page 5-5.)
