Front Panel Reference
Display and Assist/Function Keys

Starts the slide show to introduce this instrument. To start it, press OK function
key. To terminate it, press any front panel key.
About B298nB Displays the Revision dialog box which displays the model number, serial number,
firmware revision, CPU FPGA revision, module revision, installed licenses, system
uptime, and battery cycle count (B2983B/B2987B) of the B2980.
Assist Keys
Assist keys 1 AMPS (I) (B2985B/B2987B) Sets the current measurement.
COUL. (Q) (B2985B/B2987B) Sets the charge measurement.
VOLTS (V) (B2985B/B2987B) Sets the voltage measurement.
OHMS (R) (B2985B/B2987B) Sets the resistance measurement.
Resistance data is given by Resistance=Vmeas/Imeas or
Vout/Imeas. Where Vmeas is the voltage measurement data,
Imeas is the current measurement data and Vout is the output
voltage of the voltage source.
Select the voltage data (Vmeas or Vout) by using the System
Menu > Config > Measure > Ohms > V Select function keys. See
“Config Key Group” on page 171.
More... (B2985B/B2987B) Changes the assist keys to Assist keys 2.
Valid assist keys in Zoom ON (B2985B/B2987B)
During the Meter view is zoomed in, you cannot use More... key and Assist keys 2
and 3.
Assist keys 2 Show Hist. Displays the condensed histogram and changes the softkey
label to Hide Hist..
Hide Hist. Displays the range setup sub-panel shown in “Range Setup
Sub-panel” on page 151, and changes the softkey label to
Show Hist..
Show Roll Displays the condensed roll graph and changes the softkey
label to Hide Roll.
Hide Roll Displays the range setup sub-panel and changes the softkey
label to Show Roll.
