About this task
Attention:
• Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 57 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 58 to ensure that you
work safely.
• Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to
static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems.
Place the parts on a static-protective surface.
Procedure
Step 1. If the server is installed with the security bezel, remove it first. See
“Remove the security bezel” on
page 259
.
Step 2. Remove the rack latch.

a. On each side of the server, remove the two screws that secure the rack latch.
b.
On each side of the server, remove the rack latch from the chassis as shown.
After you finish

any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
