Install a system fan-pack
Use this information to install a system fan-pack. You can install a hot-swap fan without powering off the
server, which helps you avoid significant interruption to the operation of the system.

Attention:
• Read
“Installation Guidelines” on page 57 and “Safety inspection checklist” on page 58 to ensure that you
work safely.
• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
“Power off the server” on page 75.
• Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to
static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems.
Place the parts on a static-protective surface.
Procedure
Step 1. Install the system fan-pack. Align the four corners of the fan to fan-pack socket and put it down.
