• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
“Power off the server” on page 75.
• Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to
static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems.
Place the parts on a static-protective surface.
Procedure
Step 1. Install the riser card and secure it to the bracket.

a. Align the screw holes in the riser card with the corresponding ones in the bracket.

Install the three screws to secure the riser card to the bracket.
Step 2. If necessary, reinstall the PCIe adapters. See
“Install a PCIe adapter” on page 218.
Step 3. Install the riser assembly to the server.
