4. Service Procedures - Replace Components - Creaser Module
4
4.10.11 Replace the Anti-Static Brushes
The anti-static brushes are attached to the infeed side of the creaser blade-set. The
anti-static brushes are important and necessary to prevent light-weight paper from
jamming on the creaser blade-set.
4 Remove the creaser drive-motor.
Remove the four screws that
attach the creaser drive-motor to
the RH side plate.
Note: There are two 12mm long
screws and two 16mm long screws
(see Figure 4.172).
Caution: The screws are attached to
the motor retention-plate. Be careful
that the motor retention-plate does
not fall into the MFC when the screws
are removed
(see Figure 4.168)
Lift the creaser drive-motor, and
move it away from the RH side
plate.
5 Remove the drive-gear from the
creaser drive-motor.
Loosen the two set screws that
attach the drive-gear to the
creaser drive-motor shaft.
Pull the drive gear away from the
creaser drive-motor shaft.
6 Attach the drive-gear to the
replacement creaser drive-motor.
Put the drive-gear onto the
creaser drive-motor shaft.
Align one of the set screws with
the flat surface on the creaser
drive-motor shaft.
Position the drive-gear so that it
is set 3mm from the end of the
creaser drive-motor shaft (see
Figure 4.171).
Tighten the two set screws.
7 Do a check of the creaser drive-
belt tension and adjust as
necessary.
(See Section 4.5.10.1).
8 Attach the creaser drive-motor to
the RH side plate.
Caution: You must use the two
12mm long screws to attach the
motor at the rear of the creaser
module. A 16mm long screw will
touch the idler gear assembly and
can cause damage
(see Figure
4.172).
9 Do a check of the creaser drive-
motor gear play and adjust as
necessary.
(See Section 4.5.11.1).
