Substance Interference
Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)
Some auto-venting arterial blood samplers
contain carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) in
the porous vent. CMC can dissolve into the
sample and give erroneously low
cCa
2+
results. Therefore we recommend
Radiometer accessories together with our
analyzers, e.g. the
safePICO arterial blood
sampler which is specifically designed to
minimize sample contamination with CMC.
Galactose, glucosamine, maltose,
mannose, xylose
Erroneously high cGlu measurements.
