Blade protector This is the path that the blade takes during cung. It protects the
p of the blade.
Platen This is the path over which the media passes. A sucon fan that
keeps the media from coming loose and a print heater that helps
x the ink are built in.
Apron This has a built-in dryer to speed up drying of the ink.
Wipers Cleans the print heads during automac cleaning and in similar sit-
uaons.
Wiper tray This tray houses the TR2 cleaning liquid used to clean the wiper. It
contains a tray pad.
Serious Errors Indicated by the Print Light
If an error that may lead to serious damage to the printer occurs, the print light blinks.
This indicates one of the situaons shown below.
When the print light blinks, the error also appears on the operaon panel's display screen. Check the display
screen, and then respond to the error according to the informaon in Error Messages(P. 300) in this manual.

AVOIDING DRY-UP TURN POWER OFF The print heads were about to dry out. The print heads may be dam-
aged if allowed to dry out.
MOTOR ERROR: TURN POWER OFF An excessive load was applied to the motor. If this error is not ad-
dressed, the print heads may be damaged.
TEMPERATURE IS TOO LOW **°C The ambient temperature in the printer's installaon locaon has fall-
en below the temperature in which operaon is possible. If this error
is not addressed, the printer may malfuncon.
TEMPERATURE IS TOO HIGH **°C The ambient temperature in the printer's installaon locaon has ris-
en above the temperature in which operaon is possible. If this error
is not addressed, the printer may malfuncon.
CANCELED FOR PUMP PROTECTION An excessive load was applied to the pump within the machine. If this
error is not addressed, the pump may malfuncon.
SERVICE CALL **** An unrecoverable error or an error that requires a part replacement
has occurred.
If a Cover Opens during Operaon
If the front cover, le cover, or right cover (hereinaer referred to as "cover") opens during an output operaon or
while seng up the media, the machine makes an emergency stop. When an emergency stop occurs, a message
prompng you to close the cover appears on the screen. Close the covers as directed in the instrucons shown on
the screen.
When the cover is closed, you will be able to connue the operaon.
If you cannot connue the operaon even aer you close the cover, a nonrecoverable error may have occurred.
