Important Notes on Using the Operaon Applicaon
Number of printers that you can connect to
You can only connect to one printer from a mobile terminal on which the operaon applicaon has been installed.
You can register mulple printers, but you cannot connect to mulple printers at the same me.
No pairing is required
Generally speaking, "pairing" is required to establish a Bluetooth connecon. With the operaon applicaon, no
"pairing" is required. Aer starng the operaon applicaon, follow the instrucons on the screen to connect to
the printer.
Perform operaons from a posion where you can see the printer.
To enable immediate handling of unexpected printer operaons, perform operaon applicaon operaons from a
posion where you can see the printer.
Important notes on Bluetooth communicaon
With Bluetooth wireless technology, it is possible to establish a connecon between devices separated by ap-
proximately 10 m (32.8 .). However, the valid range of the connecon may vary depending on the presence
of obstacles (such as people, metal, and walls) and the status of the radio waves.
The communicaon status of the Bluetooth connecon may become unstable if:
A wireless LAN is in place in the locaon.
The devices are in the vicinity of a microwave that is in use.
Other electromagnec waves are generated in the locaon.
Bluetooth communicaon uses the same frequency band (2.4 GHz) as wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g). If the de-
vices are used in the vicinity of equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is installed, the connecon status may
become unstable due to the occurrence of radio-frequency interference. In this situaon, carry out the follow-
ing countermeasures.
When using Bluetooth communicaon to connect the printer and the mobile terminal, do so at a distance
of 10 m (32.8 .) or more away from the equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is installed.
Bring the mobile terminal and the printer as close together as possible.
If using Bluetooth communicaon within 10 m (32.8 .) of the equipment in which a wireless LAN unit is
installed, turn o the wireless LAN unit.
The radio waves generated by Bluetooth communicaon may have an eect on the operaon of electronic
medical equipment and similar devices. This may lead to accidents, so turn o Bluetooth communicaon in
the following locaons.
The vicinity of in-use hearing aids and pacemakers
Hospitals
The vicinity of automac doors and re alarms
P. 213Turning on Bluetooth Communicaon
Using Bluetooth communicaon in the vicinity of TVs or radios may lead to noise in the image or audio.
Roland DG Corporaon accepts no responsibility for the leakage of informaon during a connecon using
Bluetooth technology.
The mobile terminal that you are using to connect to the printer must comply with Bluetooth standards deter-
mined by the Bluetooth SIG and must be a cered device.
Even if the mobile terminal complies with the Bluetooth standards outlined above, phenomena may occur due
to the characteriscs and specicaons of the device. Examples of these phenomena include the inability to
connect to the printer and the operaon methods, display, and operaons being dierent.
Depending on the mobile terminal that you are connecng to the printer, it may take some me unl the Blue-
tooth connecon can be established.
