What Is the Media Heang System?
This machine is equipped with a media heang system that warms the media. You use this mainly to improve ink
adhesion and dry the ink. You can adjust the temperature sengs to match the type of media and the prinng
speed.
Dryer This is used to speed up the drying of the ink.
Print heater This heater is used mainly to improve ink adhesion.
WARNING
High temperatures
The platen and dryer become hot. Exercise cauon to avoid burns.
WARNING
When output is not being performed, remove any loaded media or switch o the sub
power.
The connued applicaon of heat at a single locaon may cause the release of toxic gases from the me-
dia or pose a re hazard.
WARNING
Never use media that cannot withstand the heat.
Doing so may result in re or the release of toxic gases or may degrade the media.
WARNING
Never use the dryer for any purpose for which it is not intended, such as to dry clothing.
Doing so may cause overheang, resulng in re or accident.
IMPORTANT
Use the machine in an environment with an ambient temperature of 20 to 32°C (68 to 90°F).
If the machine is used at an ambient temperature lower than 20°C (68°F), then depending on the type or width of the media, wrinkling
or temperature-caused unevenness may occur. If this happens, try lowering the temperature of the media heang system by about 2°C
(36°F). To obtain stable prinng results, however, use the machine in an environment with an ambient temperature of 20 to 32°C (68
to 90°F).
MEMO
By using an auxiliary drying unit, you can speed up the drying of the ink more. For informaon about purchasing an auxiliary drying
unit, contact your authorized Roland DG Corporaon dealer or visit our website (hp://www.rolanddg.com/).
