Accurately Adjusng the Cung-in Amount
When you want to perform accurate and ne adjustment of the cung-in amount, such as when cung media
with thin backing paper, you can obtain good results by adjusng the amount of blade extension. Turn the cap
poron of the blade holder to adjust the amount of blade extension. Each indicator ck corresponds to 0.1 mm
(3.9 mil), and adjustment for 0.5 mm (19.7 mil) can be made by rotang the cap one full turn.
Note that making the amount of blade extension too small may cause the p of the blade holder cap to touch, and
may soil and damage the printed surface. It is important to be especially careful about this when you are using
media that has poor ink-adhesion properes.
The amount of blade extension (
) is 0 mm ( ) at minimum and 2.5 mm (98.4 mil) ( ) at maximum.
Rough Esmate for the Amount of Blade Extension (When Creang a Scker)
Set the amount of blade extension ( ) to an amount that is the sum of the thickness of the material poron ( )
and half ( ) the thickness of the backing paper ( ).
Rough Esmate for the Amount of Blade Extension (When Cung Perforated Lines)
Set the amount of blade extension ( ) so that when the cuer pierces the media ( ), the blade extends slightly.
For informaon about the output sengs for cung perforated lines, refer to the documentaon for VersaWorks.
IMPORTANT
Pushing the blade out too far will damage the blade and blade protector and hasten their deterioraon, so exercise cauon.
