3. Accurately Adjusng the Cung-in Amount
When you want to perform accurate and ne adjustment of the cung-in amount, such as when cung media
with thin backing paper, you can obtain good results by adjusng the amount of blade extension. Turn the cap
poron of the blade holder to adjust the amount of blade extension. Each indicator ck corresponds to 0.1 mm
(3.9 mil), and adjustment for 0.5 mm (19.7 mil) can be made by rotang the cap one full turn.
Note that making the amount of blade extension too small may cause the p of the blade holder cap to touch, and
may soil and damage the printed surface. It is important to be especially careful about this when you are using
media that has poor ink-adhesion properes.
The amount of blade extension (
) is 0 mm (
) at minimum and 2.5 mm (98.4 mil) (
) at maximum.
• Rough Esmate for the Amount of Blade Extension (When Creang a Scker)
Set the amount of blade extension (
) to an amount that is the sum of the thickness of the material poron (
) and half (
) the thickness of the backing paper (
).
• Rough Esmate for the Amount of Blade Extension (When Cung Perforated Lines)
Set the amount of blade extension (
) so that when the cuer pierces the media (
), the blade extends slightly.
