3. Connect a PSU to the battery connection.
4. Connect to a PC using the charger/comms interface.
5. Run the WSM Terminal software.
6. Switch the transponder ON.
7. On WSM Terminal, select Get Status.
8. Check the transponder populates the data fields. This confirms the basic operation of the
micro controller and associated crystal.
9. On the WSM Terminal software, select the following:
NAV Scheme = HPR
HPR Channel = B33
Address = 3301
10. Refer to the Program the ANT Tone Burst set procedure and program the ANT as necessary
to get tone bursts of B33 frequency.
11. Press the START key on the ANT to produce the following sequence of interrogation signals.
Tone Bursts 10ms wide
Frequency 23923Hz (channel B33)
Amplitude 15V p/p (0 dB attenuation)
Repetition Rate 750ms
12. Press STOP on the ANT to stop the sequence at any time.
13. If programmed correctly the ANT will produce a trigger output for the oscilloscope Tone Burst
simulation.
14. Connect the Trigger OUT terminal on the ANT to the Trigger input of the oscilloscope.
15. Switch the oscilloscope to negative Trigger.
16. Tighten the coupling loop supplied with the ANT around the transducer end-cap
17. Connect the other end of the coupling loop to the TDR output of the ANT.
NOTE
The position of the loop on the end-cap may have to be adjusted to achieve optimum
coupling.
18. Use the oscilloscope to check the waveforms obtained at the various points in the circuit.
Failure at any point through the operation will indicate the source of the fault.
