CAUTIONS
Do not charge the battery packs in any way other than is outlined in this manual. Failure
to follow instructions may result in a loss of battery pack life or damage the battery pack.
Do not allow the WSM6 transponder to be cooled or heated during the charging process
as the over-current protection component characteristics may change adversely.
Do not fast charge/discharge the WSM6 battery pack other then when using the Type
7972-000-0 WSM6 comms/charger and WSM6 charger PSU.
Do not repeatedly connect the Fast Charger to the transponder when the battery is fully
charged.
Do not damage the WSM6 housing when attempting to remove the retaining rod.
Damage to the protective coating will result in corrosion.
When extracting the connector end-cap from the main housing do not twist as this will
prevent the end-cap from being removed.
Make sure the ‘O’ ring seals do not become damaged during the extraction process
The Subconn and Micro-Subconn connectors must not be mated without lubrication as
this will lead to delamination of the rubber from the connection pins and connector failure.
Failure to clean sand or silt from the connectors could result in the splaying of the
female contact and damage to the ‘O’ ring seals.
Do not over apply grease to the connector faces as a build up of grease in the female
connector will affect connector integrity.
Do not operate multiple beacons on the same Quickset Wideband settings in the water
at the same time. The address must be unique to any on e beacon operating in the same
acoustic area.
To avoid damage to the circuitry during testing, make sure the ON/OFF switch on the
end-cap is set to OFF and only set to ON for the duration of the test.
