Clean the System of Ink
At the end of each workday, perform the “Stop Jetting With Cleaning” procedure:
1. On the Main screen, select Stop Jetting:
2. Select “Stop Jetting With Cleaning.”
Cleaning the Printhead
Check inside the Printhead daily for any bulild-up of ink. The following procedure should be
performed whenever the ink noticeably builds up within the Printhead or if the system has been
shut down incorrectly. It should also be done as preventative maintenance every 3 days, either
before starting up the system at the beginning of the day or after shutdown at the end of the
day. Ink should not be jetting through the Printhead while it is being cleaned.
Items needed to clean the Printhead are:
• Cleaning Bottle with makeup fluid inside
• Cleaning Tray
• Drying Bulb
• Container with lid for waste ink/makeup fluid
To clean the Printhead:
1. If not already stopped, stop jetting:
a. On the Main screen, select Stop Jetting:
b. Select Stop Jetting Without Cleaning.
2. Remove the Printhead Cover:
a. At the base of the Printhead, near the Umbilical Tube, unscrew the Cover Fastener.
b. Pull the Printhead Cover off by pulling it toward the nozzle end of the Printhead.
