High-Voltage Leakage Warning
If ink accumulates inside the Printhead between the Deflector Plates, or if an electrical arc
occurs between the Deflector Plates during printing, the system stops printing immediately.
“High-Voltage Leakage” is displayed on the screen and in the Alarm Log (see “Alarm Log” on
page 75). This is a condition that should be addressed immediately.
WARNING: If a “High-Voltage Leakage” warning is displayed, it is possible that a
heavy buildup of ink has developed on the Deflector Plates inside the Printhead. If
this has occurred, it is possible for electrical arcing to take place between the two
Deflector Plates.
To address a High-Voltage Leakage Warning, do the following:
1. Shut the system down:
a. Select Stop Jetting
b. Select Stop Jetting Without Cleaning.
c. Once jetting is off, turn the Power Switch on the right side of the Console to the
“OFF” position.
2. Prepare to Clean the Deflector Plates:
a. Gather the items needed to clean the Deflector Plates:
• Cleaning Bottle with makeup fluid inside
• Cleaning Tray
• Drying Bulb
• Empty hazardous liquids container with lid for waste ink/makeup fluid
3. Remove the Printhead Cover
a. At the base of the Printhead, near the Umbilical Tube, unscrew the Cover Fastener.
b. Pull the Printhead Cover off by pulling it toward the nozzle end of the Printhead.
