DonotstarttheengineandengagethePTOswitchwhenthePTO
driveshaftisdisconnectedfromthecuttingdeck.Ifyoustartthe
engineandthePTOshaftisallowedtorotate,seriouspersonalinjury
andmachinedamagecouldresult.
IfthePTOdriveshaftisdisconnectedfromthecuttingdeck,
disconnectthePTOelectricclutchelectricalconnector.
3.DisconnectthePTOdriveshaftfromthegearbox;refertoRemovingthe
PTODriveshaft(page9–5).
4.Removethe4bolts(item3inFigure303)and4lockwashersthatsecure
thegearboxassemblytothegearboxbrackets.
5.Removethe4carriagescrews,4angenuts,4washers,and4mountsthat
securetheleftandrightgearboxbrackets(items8and6inFigure303)tothe
deckmountingplate,andremovethebracketsfromthedeck.
6.Removethegearboxassembly(withthedrivepulleyattached)fromthedeck.
Drainthelubricantfromthegearbox.
7.Removethe2setscrews(item12inFigure303)thatsecurethetaperlock
bushingtothedrivepulleyonthegearboxshaft.
