4. Verify the position of the handle on the transceiver. If the transceiver is
in an odd numbered slot, the handle should be towards the right, as
shown in Figure 87. If the transceiver is in an even numbered slot, the
handle should be towards the left.

5. Connect the fiber optic cable to the transceiver, as shown in Figure 88
on page 122. The connector on the cable should fit snugly into the
port, and the tab should lock the connector into place.
Handle
