6 Midra™ 4K concepts
This chapter only describes the general concepts of the Midra™ 4K product line. Detailed procedures are
available in the next chapters of the document.
6.1 Inputs capacity
As indicated on the rear panel, Input 1 and Input 2 have a particular design (see Fig. 1 - Midra 4K front and
rear panels, page 19). They both have Two plugs with lower bandwidth than other input plugs (up to 1920 x
1080 @60Hz for 3G-SDI and 4096 x2160 @30Hz for HDMI 1.4). Only one plug per input can be active, the
status information of the other plug is available but the image preview is not possible.
All other inputs have one plug and support formats up to 4096 x 2160 @60Hz.
6.2 Outputs and Multiviewer capacity
The two Outputs (4 plugs) support formats up to 4096 x 2160 @60Hz.
The Multiviewer output (2 plugs) support formats up to 2560 x 1600 @60Hz.
All output plugs can be active at the same time, the same signal is sent on both plugs of the same output.
Note: Some output formats will only work on one plug if the other one does not support the format.
6.3 Operating modes
Mixer mode
Reminder: Mixer mode is available on QuickVu 4K, Pulse 4K and Eikos 4K.
Mixer mode features:
- One single output Program Screen with a format up to 4096 x 2160 @60Hz.
This Screen has one Background layer, two Mixing layers* and one Foreground layer.
- And one single output Aux. Screen with a format up to 1920 x 1080 @60Hz. The Aux. Screen can
display a live input or the Program output of the Screen.
*The Screen of the QuickVu 4K has only one Mixing layer.
Matrix mode
Reminder: Matrix mode is available on QuickMatrix 4K, Pulse 4K and Eikos 4K.
Matrix mode features:
- Two independent single output Program Screens with formats up to 4096 x 2160 @60Hz.
Each Screen has one Background layer, one Mixing layer and one Foreground layer.
