As with the analog and AES-3 boxes,
these SDI interfaces connect to the
network via an Ethernet port on the rear
of the unit. Each unit has two identical
ports to provide network redundancy. All
versions are supplied with two RJ45 ports
for copper connections (1000BASE-T
for distances up to 90m = 290 feet).
Plug-in GBIC modules allow connections
with 1000BASE-SX (for distances up to
550m) and 1000BASE-LX (for distances
up to 10km) are available.
