show inventory
show inventory
Use the show inventory user EXEC command to display product identification (PID) information for
the hardware.
show inventory [entity-name | raw] [ | {begin | exclude | include} expression]

Usage Guidelines The command is case sensitive. With no arguments, the show inventory command produces a compact
dump of all identifiable entities that have a product identifier. The compact dump displays the entity
location (slot identity), entity description, and the unique device identifier (UDI) (PID, VID, and SN) of
that entity.
Note If there is no PID, no output appears when you enter the show inventory command.
Expressions are case sensitive. For example, if you enter | exclude output, the lines that contain output
are not displayed, but the lines that contain Output are displayed.
Examples This is example output from the show inventory command:
Switch> show inventory
NAME: "sw-2-9-calg", DESCR: "Cisco Catalyst c2950 switch with 24 10/100 BaseTX ports and 2
GBIC (Gigabit Interface Converter) slots"
PID: WS-C2950G-24-EI , VID: A0 , SN: FHK0603Y088
entity-name (Optional) Display the specified entity. For example, enter the interface
(such as gigabitethernet1/0/1) into which a small form-factor pluggable
(SFP) module is installed.
raw (Optional) Display every entity in the device.
| begin (Optional) Display begins with the line that matches the expression.
| exclude (Optional) Display excludes lines that match the expression.
| include (Optional) Display includes lines that match the specified expression.
expression Expression in the output to use as a reference point.
