Setting the Power Management Level
Power Management Levels
To extend the life of your battery packs, use the Battery
Conservation tab in Power Properties. You can customize the
level of battery conservation or use one of four power
management levels:
High
Select this level for the maximum amount of power
conservation possible in an automatic setting. Using this level,
you receive the most battery operating time from a single
charge.
Medium
Select this level for a balance between performance
and battery operating time. This is the default setting.
Custom
Select this level to customize timeout settings for:
Windows 95 Windows NT
Suspend Suspend
System idle Hard disk idle
Screen save System idle
Processor speed Screen save
Brightness Processor speed

NOTE
:
The custom level default settings are the same as the
medium level until you set your own values.
None (Drain)
Provides the maximum battery drain because
battery conservation is turned off. The computer runs at full
speed if no power conservation level is selected.
