2 MovethecablefromEnclosure1:right,portB→Enclosure2:right,port C.
3 ConnectanewcablebetweenEnclosure1:right,portA→Enclosure2:right,portBas

4 Reconnectthe
B‐sidecablestothecontrollersasshowninFigure116onpage 183.
Enclosure1:right,portC→ControllerB:slot3,port1.
Enclosure2:right,portC→ControllerA:slot3,port3.
Manage the New Disks
Aftertheenclosureisconnected,makesurethatitisrunningthemostrecentversionof
software.
1 Checkforavailableupdates:
a FromtheStorageManagementmenu,selectSystem→Update→UpdateStatus.
b ClickCheckNow.AsStorageCenterchecksforupdates,statusappearsinthe
UpdateStatuswizard.
c If
anupdateisavailable,downloadandinstalltheupdateasdescribedinStorage
CenterSoftwareUpdateGuide.
2 TheStorageCenterSystemManagerinformsyouthatyouhavenew,unassigneddisks.
FromtheStorageManagementmenu,selectDisk→ManageUnassignedDisksto
movethemtothemanageddiskfolderandadd
thespacetothediskpool.Formore
information,seetheStorageCenterSystemManagerAdministrator’sGuide.
3 ViewthelistofenclosuresinSystemManagerandverifythatthenewenclosuresand
disksappearintheSystemTree.
4 IntheStorageCenterSystemManager,selectStorageManagement→System→
Setup
→ConfigureLocalPorts.Makesurethat:
SlotandslotportsareUpandthePurposeissettoback‐end.
TargetCountequalsthenumberofaddeddrives,demonstratingthatthecontroller
recognizesthenewenclosures.
5 Toredistributedataacrossalldrives,fromtheStorageManagementmenu,select
Disk→Rebalance RAID.
Note: Enclosuresmustberunningthecurrentversionoffirmwarebeforemanaging
thedrivesinStorageCenterSystemManager.
