Determine Where IO Cards Should Be Installed
ThefollowingtableprovidesguidelinesforinstallingIOcardstoensurepropercooling
andmechanicalfit.InstallIOcardsusingthecardpriorityandslotpriorityorderindicated.
Populatetheslotsasfollows:
Installlow‐profileIOcardsinslots3through1.Afterfillingtheseslots,low‐profile
cardsmaybeinstalledinslots4,5,and6whenusedwiththeadaptivebracket.
Installfull‐heightIOcardsbeginning inslot6,followedbyslot5,thenslot4ifneeded.
Slot7isreservedfortheCacheCard.
Note: Low‐profileIOcardsareshippedwithanadaptivefull‐heightbracketthat
mustbeinstalledtousetheIOcardinaslotdesignedforafull‐heightIOcard.When
alow‐profilecardisinstalledinafull‐heightslottheportsarereversed,soport
number
1isontheright.
