5.2.5 Serial communication timeout setting
If the signal on the input operation port is interrupted for a certain period during acceleration or
normal operation, the STP pump detects a failure and stops. The time setting of the failure detection
is user-definable. When the setting value is 0, the function is disabled. This value will be common to
all serial ports, and the factory setting is 1 minute.
The setting value can be changed using serial communication (see 5.4.17, “SetOptionFunc”), the
STP-Link (optional accessory) or the display unit iDT-002 (optional accessory).
Design the user application so that a PC communicates with the STP pump at fixed, regular intervals
within the setting time, except when the function is disabled (the value is 0).
Table 19 - Serial communication time out setting
Note: When the communication time out is disabled, the STP pump may not stop when the serial
communication does not work correctly due to a disconnection of the communication cable.
In this case, interrupt the power supply for 2 seconds or more to stop the STP pump by
power failure detection. Supply the power to the STP pump immediately after power failure
detection.
