The cause of variations in the recoater level may be problems with the powder
dosing. After a visual inspection, the dosing factor must be increased or reduced.
Increase or reduce dosing factor:
1. Interrupt building process.
See Operation EOS P 396 manual, section 6, Interrupting building process.
2. Increase/reduce dosing factor:
On the Process menu choose the Job parameters… option.
The Job parameters window appears.
Choose the Recoating II tab.
Enter parameter in the Powder dosing group box.
3. Continue building process:
On the Process menu choose the Continue option.
The building process is continued with the next layer to be recoated or exposed.
Ideally the pile of powder in the recoater on leaving the building area, i.e., when
the recoater movement is almost complete, should be approx. 3 to 10 mm from
the opposite wall of the recoater blade (leading recoater blade).
EOS recommends increasing/reducing the amount dispenser in the Min. charge
amount / Max. charge amount field iteratively in 10 % steps.
You will find further information in the Software reference 3.6 EOS P 3 manual,
section 3, Recoating II tab.
