Separation of filled plastic powder
➢ Effect
- Light and dark stripes in the part
- Varying colour, shrinkage and density of the parts
- Shrinkage behaviour is not constant with the same batch.
➢ Cause
- Excessively long mixing times
- Powder allowed to fall an excessive height on filling or transfer.
➢ Problem rectification
- Keep to recommended mixing times
- Maximum height the powder falls on filling or transfer should not be more
than 1 meter.
