➢ Exposure type EOS_UD
In the exposure type EOS_UD the last 3 topmost layers of the part (upskin) and
the first 3 bottommost layers of the part (downskin) are optimised in relation to
their surface finish quality. In combination with the exposure function Edge, thin
wall thicknesses (< 2 x value of the beam offset) are also exposed. The exposure
type EOS_UD is suitable for parts with a large, flat surface on the underside
(> 50 mm²) and high requirements on precise and smooth surfaces on the
underside and top. It is not recommendable for the production of complex parts.
➢ Exposure type EOS_UD_noEdge
Unlike the exposure type EOS_UD, with the exposure type EOS_UD_noEdge thin
wall thicknesses that are less than twice the beam offset are not exposed. In
certain circumstances, radii and edges are however built with finer steps.
➢ Exposure type EOS_SkinCore
Part skin and part core are exposed using different exposure types. As a result the
building time and the part weight can be reduced with good surface quality, with
less strength than with the exposure type EOS.
➢ Exposure type EOS_Box
With the aid of this exposure type a storage box with a lattice structure can be
built for small or delicate parts. The parts can then be shot-peened more gently
and are easier to find in the bed of powder.
