Printing Mechanism
The printing method used for this printer is on-demand ink jet, as in other EPSON ink jet printers. However, a
new type of printhead improves print quality and speed. The printing mechanism has 2 parts: the printhead
and the ink cartridge.
Printhead Structure
This printer has black and color printheads. The printhead structures are the same except for the nozzle
configuration. The black printhead is composed of 128 nozzles (4 rows with 32 nozzles in each row). The
color printhead is composed of separate printheads for Magenta, Cyan, and Yellow, and has 64 nozzles (2
rows with 32 nozzles in each row) for each color.
