It is possible to avoid this situation and require at least one real alarm condition to be present before the output activates.
Check the ‘At least One Alarm’ checkbox:
The output will not activate unless one or more input channels indicate an alarm, as shown in the examples below:
9.6.7 Controller Display and LEDs
The cause and effect matrix controls the state of programmed outputs. Alarms, faults and warnings are reported
independently on the controller front panel and are not affected by cause and effect settings.
9.6.8 Alarm Update
Alarm Update is used to indicate that one or more alarm events included in a cause and effect matrix has occurred since
any previous events were acknowledged.
For instance:
1. A sensor detects that an AL1 threshold has been exceeded
2. The operator accepts the AL1 alarm
3. The sensor detects that the gas level has risen and the AL2 threshold has been exceeded
4. The system must indicate that a change has occurred.
Or:
1. A sensor in a voting group indicates an alarm
2. The operator accepts the alarm
3. A further sensor indicates an alarm
4. The system must indicate that a change has occurred.
