Drive Firmware for 7226 Drive Features:
v IBM maintains the latest levels of System Storage tape drive firmware
documentation on the Internet. Utilize the Fix Central download portal by
accessing the following website:
– http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral
v To find the firmware downloads for tape, DVD-RAM and RDX, select the
following pull-down categories:
– "Product Group" - select "POWER"
– "Product Family" - select "Firmware/HMC"
– "Product Type" - select the POWER6 or POWER7 Machine type and model for
your configuration. Click "Continue"
– Select "Firmware" and then for "Device Type" select "Media". Click "Continue"
and The next screen will list firmware for each drive feature by name
(DAT160, HHLTO5, DVD-RAM, RDX)
Note: The device driver "Atape" is required for the Fibre Channel LTO5 tape drive.
Atape is not shipped with the 7226 and is available from the Fix Central
URL.

IBM Power Systems Host Bus Adapter (HBA) requirements:
v SAS Controller Adapter and Cable:
– PCI-E DDR Dual-x4 External SAS Controller Adapter (feature numbers 5278
or 5901) must be installed in IBM POWER7 or IBM POWER6 processor-based
servers in order to attach to a 7226 Model 1U3 Multi-Media Storage Enclosure
– For each SAS tape drive and DVD-RAM drive feature installed in the 7226,
the appropriate external SAS cable will be included for attach to an IBM
Power server
– Up to two 7226 storage enclosure SAS features may be attached per PCI-E
DDR Dual-x4 SAS Adapters (feature numbers 5278 or 5901)
