DTC: Traction Fault 6210
Direction error.
DTC: Traction Fault 6211
Throttle sensor error. (See “Traction Fault 6211” on page 4-81.)
DTC: Traction Fault 6212
Reverse alarm test failed. (See “Traction Fault 6212 (OLM and BRC)” on page 4-81.)
DTC: Traction Fault 6212 (BRC Units)
Reverse alarm test failed. (See “Traction Fault 6212 (OLM and BRC)” on page 4-81.)
Probable Cause Remedy
Faulty wiring or connections. Check traction pedal position sensor connector; make sure connector is clean and tight.
Make sure pedal position sensor wiring harness is free of nicks and cuts and not pinched
to machine frame.
Faulty traction pedal position sensor. Substitute the traction pedal position sensor with a known good traction pedal position
sensor. If pedal failed this check/test, install a known good part. If system now works,
re-install old component to verify fault returns.
Faulty traction control unit. Substitute the traction control unit with a known good traction control unit. If system now
works, re-install old component to verify fault returns.
Probable Cause Remedy
Faulty wiring or connections. Check traction pedal position connector; make sure connections are dry, clean of
corrosion and tight.
Make sure pedal position sensor wiring harness is free of nicks and cuts and not pinched
to machine frame.
Traction pedal position sensor out of
adjustment.
Check traction pedal position sensor adjustment. (See “Traction Pedal Adjustment” on
page 4-136.)
Faulty traction pedal position sensor. Substitute the traction pedal position sensor with a known good traction pedal position
sensor. If system now works, re-install old component to verify fault returns.
Faulty traction control unit. Substitute the traction control unit with a known good traction control unit. If system now
works, re-install old component to verify fault returns.
Probable Cause Remedy
TCU receiving FWD/REV simultaneously. Check for moisture or corrosion at J48, J93 and J44
Measure voltage at J48-pin4 to chassis GND with pedal fully depressed in the FWD
direction. Also measure voltage at J48-pin5 to chassis GND with pedal fully
depressed. If voltage is present at both pins in FWD mode, Substitute the traction
pedal with a known good traction pedal. If system now works, re-install old component
to verify fault returns.
Probable Cause Remedy
Bad Feedback Check/repair signal wire from TCU to BRC
Resistors open or shorted Perform resistor Ohms test and continuity test between resistors and ground.
Repair/Replace as needed.
Faulty BRC module If fault occurs as soon as you touch the traction pedal, substitute the BRC module with a
known good BRC Module. If system now works, re-install old component to verify fault
returns
