• Power off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect the power cords and all external cables. See
“Power off the server” on page 75.
• Keep static-sensitive parts in their static-protective packages until installation to prevent exposure to
static electricity. Handle the parts with an electrostatic-discharge wrist strap or other grounding systems.
Place the parts on a static-protective surface.
Procedure
Step 1. Gently press and hold the tab on the 2.5-inch rear drive cage as shown and remove the air baffle
from the 2.5-inch rear drive cage.

Press the tab on one side to disengage the air baffle.
b. Lift the air baffle to remove it from drive cage.
Step 2. Align the rear backplane with the 2.5-inch rear drive cage and lower it into the 2.5-inch rear drive
cage.
