CREW COMPARTMENT INTERIOR
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Crew Seat Assembly
A. Crew Seat Assembly Removal
(Ref. Figure 401)
NOTE: Removal of left and right crew seat as
semblies and components are typical.
(1). Remove bolts (5) and washers (6)
attaching seat adjustment rails (2) to
cockpit floor.
(2). Carefully lift entire crew seat assembly
(4) and remove from aircraft.
B. Crew Seat Assembly Installation
(Ref. Figure 401)
NOTE: Installation of left and right crew seat
assemblies and components are typical.
(1). Align crew seat assembly (4) with
mounting holes in cockpit floor.
(2). Install bolts (5) and washers (6)
attaching seat adjustment rails (2) to
cockpit floor.
(3). Torque bolts.
2. Seat Cushions, Back Rest and Pan
A. Seat Cushion Removal
(Ref. Figure 401)
(1). Pull seat pan cushion (41) up from seat
pan assembly (39) hook tape fasteners
to remove.
(2). Untie lacing of back rest cushion (40)
from rear of seat back assembly (42) to
remove.
B. Seat Cushion Installation
(Ref. Figure 401)
(1). Wrap flaps of back rest cushion (40)
around seat back assembly (42) frame
and re-tie lacing to secure.
(2). Push seat pan cushion (41) down
against hook tape fasteners of seat pan
assembly (39) to secure.
3. Restraint System
A. Restraint System (Harness) Removal
(Ref. Figure 401)
(1). Remove crew seat assembly (4).
(2). Remove back rest (40) and pan seat
(41) cushions (Ref. Section 25-10-00).
(3). Remove nut (7), washers (8, 14 and 16),
bushing (15) and bolt (9) attaching lap
harness (10) to seat back assembly (42).
(4). Remove nut (7), washers (8, 14 and 16),
bushing (15) and screw (17) attaching
crotch harness (10) to seat pan assem
bly (39).
(5). Remove and discard nuts (20). Remove
washers (19) and bolts (18) attaching
inertia reel (11) and shoulder harness
(10) to seat back (42).
(6). Remove and discard nuts (20). Remove
washers (33) and screws (37) attaching
harness locking handle assembly (38) to
seat pan (39).
B. Restraint System (Harness) Installation
(Ref. Figure 401)
(1). Install bolts (18), washers (19) and new
nuts (20) attaching inertia reel (11) and
shoulder harness (10) to seat back
assembly (42).
(2). Install screws (37), washers (33) and
new nuts (20) attaching harness locking
handle assembly (38) to seat pan
assembly (39).
(3). Install screw (17), bushing (15),
washers (8, 14 and 16) and nut (7)
attaching crotch harness (10) to seat
pan assembly (39).
(4). Install bolt (9), bushing (15), washers
(8, 14 and 16) and nut (7) attaching lap
harness (10) to seat back (42).
(5). Torque nuts.
(6). Install back rest (40) and pan seat (41)
cushions (Ref. Section 25-10-00).
(7). Install crew seat assembly (4) in
aircraft.
