9. Tests for the Fuel Cell
A. Integrity Test of the Longitudinal Baffle of
the Fuel Cell (902 CONFIG)
Aviation Turbine Fuel
(1). Make sure there is 60.0 US gal / 408.0
lb (227 L / 185 kg) of fuel in fuel cell
(2). Drain right side of fuel cell from RH
fuel sump drain valve (forward drain
valve control cable) into suitable
container.
(3). Apply 24 to 28 Vdc external power to
aircraft.
(4). Make sure the IIDS and FUEL
PROBE circuit breakers on ESSEN
TIAL BUS panel and FUEL LOW
(900 CONFIG) or RH FUEL LOW and
LH FUEL LOW (902 CONFIG) circuit
breakers on ELECTRICAL LOAD
CENTER panel are activated.
(5). Make sure the right FUEL low level
warning tick mark (red) indicator is
illuminated.
(6). Make sure the left FUEL low level
warning tick mark (red) indicator is not
illuminated.
(7). Fuel must remain on left side of fuel
cell for 30 minutes without bleeding to
the right side.
(a). Make sure the right FUEL low level
warning tick mark (red) indicator
continues to be illuminated.
(b). Make sure the left FUEL low level
warning tick mark (red) indicator is
not illuminated.
(8). Set POWER switch on ELECTRICAL
MASTER panel to OFF.
(9). If longitudinal baffle integrity is not
kept, defuel the rotorcraft (ref. Section
12-00-00) and repair fuel cell (ref.
Manufacturer CMM, Section 01-00-00,
or Section 28-00-00).
(10). If longitudinal baffle integrity is kept,
fuel the rotorcraft (ref. Section
12-00-00).
