(d). Use the IIDS up arrow key or down
arrow key to select DO CALIBRA
TION menu item.
(e). Press the IIDS ENT key for more
than 4 seconds to bring up the DO
CALIBRATION third level menu.
(f). The IIDS will display message:
AIRCRAFT READY ?
CRUISE ATTITUDE ?
(g). Press the IIDS ENT key for more
than 4 seconds to command calibra
tions.
(h). The IIDS will display calibration
codes:
FWD FUEL CAL XXX
AFT FUEL CAL XXX
(i). Record the fuel probe calibration
codes in the Rotorcraft Log Book for
future reference.
NOTE: Whenever the IIDS is replaced, the fuel
calibration codes must be re-entered into
the SET CAL CODE menu of the installed
IIDS (ref. CSP-900RMM-3, Section
95-30-00).
(j). Press the IIDS REC key to save the
calibration codes.
(k). Press the IIDS CLR key to exit out
of the menu.
(l). Set the POWER switch on ELEC
TRICAL MASTER panel to OFF for
10 seconds minimum.
NOTE: This will initialize the IIDS memory for
the calibration codes.
(16). Set the POWER switch on ELEC
TRICAL MASTER panel to BATT/
EXT.
(17). Add an additional 18 US gal (68.137 L)
to the fuel cell as measured from a
calibrated fuel truck metering system.
(18). Alternate Method:
(a). Calculate fuel to be added by weight.
(b). Add an additional 18 US gal (68.137
L) to the fuel cell.
(19). Make sure the FUEL low level warning
tick marks (red) indicators are not
illuminated.
(20). Return the aircraft to normal ground
attitude (3
° nose up).
(21). Fuel the aircraft with an additional
128.2 US gal (485.28 L) of fuel from a
calibrated fuel truck metering system
(ref. Section 12-00-00).
(22). Make sure the IIDS FUEL quantity
LB is within:
Jet A, Jet A-1, JP-8: 932 to 1050 lb
(423 to 476 kg)
JP-5: 939 to 1059 lb
(426 to 480 kg)
JP-4: 877 to 989 lb
(398 to 449 kg)
(23). Alternative Method:
NOTE: This alternative method more accurate
ly finds that the indication falls within the
required +6% allowable error of actual fuel
weight at full fuel.
(a). Find the actual fuel density in lb/gal
(kg/L) with a hydrometer.
(b). Multiply the fuel density value by
146.2 US gallons (553.4 L) (total
usable fuel capacity) to find actual
usable fuel quantity in pounds
(kilograms).
(c). The IIDS fuel quantity indication
must be within +6% of this value.
(24). On ELECTRICAL MASTER panel,
set POWER switch to OFF.
