Introduction to advanced functions
This product includes the following fax functions.
Resolution
You can set the resolution to scan with according to the document.
For details, see “Setting the resolution “ (page 3-8).
Contrast
You can set the contrast to scan with according to the document.
For details, see “Setting the contrast” (page 3-9).
Duplex scan
You can transmit both sides of a document. See “Duplex scan” (page 4-9).
Redial
“Redialing” refers to the process of transmitting to a previous destination again. See
“Redialing “ (page 3-5).
Monitor
For details, see “Manual transmission” (page 3-4).
Speed-dialing (Speed-dial)
For details, see “Using speed-dial numbers” (page 5-4).
Auto distribution (Auto Dist.)
When a fax is received, it is distributed to a specified destination if its information
matches the conditions registered in advance. Up to 200 distribution settings can be
registered. For details, see “Auto distribution” (page 4-31).
Group transmission (Group Tx)
For details, see “Using groups” (page 5-5).
Auto reception (Auto Rx)
You can set manual reception or automatic reception.
For details, see “Setting the auto reception / manual reception” (page 3-20).
Security reception (Security Rx)
If security reception is set, documents received after the specified security reception
starting time are stored in memory and not printed. Since it is necessary to enter a
passcode to print the documents, this prevents received documents from being taken
away (page 4-26).
TTI
You can select from three types of sender names registered in advance. You can also
transmit without adding a sender name (page 4-16).
Cover page
A cover page containing a simple message can be automatically attached to the
documents. You can either enter a subject and message or use a template registered in
advance to insert the cover page document. For details, see “Cover page” (page 4-11).
