Network Connection and IP Address Requirements
Prior to installation, network cables must be run from your existing network infrastructure to
the installation site. The network requirements for an Oracle Exadata Storage Expansion Rack
are as follows:

■ 18 for Oracle ILOM (one per Exadata Storage Server)
■ 4 for switches (3 for InfiniBand and 1 for Ethernet)
■ 2 for monitoring electric current of the PDUs (PDU connectivity is only
required if the electric current will be monitored remotely.)
Half expansion rack 24 ■ 9 for administration (one per Exadata Storage Server)
■ 9 for Oracle ILOM (one per Exadata Storage Server)
■ 4 for switches (3 for InfiniBand and 1 for Ethernet)
■ 2 for monitoring electric current of the PDUs (PDU connectivity is only
required if the electric current will be monitored remotely.)
Quarter expansion rack 13 ■ 4 for administration (one per Exadata Storage Server)
