Three TM/P sensors monitor color offset in the main scan and sub scan directions at each point [A]
(left), [B] (center), and [C] (right). They measure and calculate the amount main scan shift and
magnification errors, as well as sub scan shift skew and bending.
The center TM/P sensor is also used to detect the amount of toner coverage in the patterns on the
drum for toner coverage process control.
