7 Electrical installation
7.1 Safety
Information on the requirements that must be met for safe integration of the safety
la
ser scanner into the control and electronics of the machine: see "Integrating the
equipment into the electrical control", page 51.
Mounting should be completed before electrical installation.

azard due to electrical voltage
Hazard due to unexpected starting of the machine

Make sure that the machine is (and remains) disconnected from the power supply
during the electrical installation.
b
Make sure that the dangerous state of the machine is (and remains) switched off.
b
Make sure that the outputs of the safety laser scanner have no effect on the
machine during the electrical installation.

azard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective device
In the case of non-compliance, it is possible that the dangerous state of the machine
may not be stopped or not stopped in a timely manner.

Make sure that the following control and electrical requirements are met so the
safety laser scanner can fulfill its protective function.

Use suit
able power supply.
b
Use the same earthing method for all devices that are electrically connected to the
safety laser scanner.
b
Check that all earthing points are connected with the same ground potential.
b
Voltage supply must be supplied in accordance with SELV/PELV (IEC 60204-1) for
all devices that are electrically connected to the safety laser scanner.
b
All devices that are electrically connected to the safety laser scanner must be
supplied by the same voltage supply
b
Connect functional earth correctly.

azard due to lack of effectiveness of the protective device
The dangerous state may not be stopped in the event of non-compliance.

Always connect the two OSSDs in an OSSD pair separately from one another. The
two OSSDs must not be connected to each other.
b
Connect the OSSDs such that the machine controller processes both signals
separately.
